Habitats

From Dragon Mania Legends Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

A Habitat is a place where Dragons live and accumulate Gold. Habitats can be purchased by going to the Main Shop and accessing the Habitats Tab.png tab.

For easier Gold collection, a Yellow-Bordered Gold Icon.png icon appears above the Habitat to indicate it has accumulated at least 30% of its capacity, while the Green-Bordered Gold Icon.png appears when the Habitat is at 100% capacity. Otherwise, Gold can be collected by tapping the Collect Gold Button.png button. Whenever Gold is collected, the amount is shown in yellow atop the Habitat. If the Trainer has an active VIP Status, the additional amount of Gold given as a result of this status is shown in purple.

Moving & Selling[edit]

As long as they are not under construction, Habitats can be moved to a different location by tapping on the building then dragging it to the new location. An arrow will appear on each side of the Habitat indicating if the Habitat can be placed in the new location or not. If the arrows are gray, the spot is not accessible, and if the arrows are green, the Habitat can be placed onto that spot. If a Habitat is no longer needed or in use, it can be sold or stored. Selling a Habitat can be done by pressing the Sell Button.png button. Habitats can be stored in the inventory Inventory Icon.png by selecting the Inventory Button.png button and then confirming the choice in the window that appears.

The action of selling or storing a Habitat will not be allowed without first moving all of the Dragons from that Habitat to a different Habitat (including Dragons that are exploring ruins, breeding, are in the Fountain of Youth, having their Elements awoken, or having their skills trained at the Dragon Academy). The selling price of a Habitat is 25% of the total amount of Gold the Trainer has invested in it. For example, a Level 1 Earth Habitat costs 1,000 Gold to build, thus its selling cost is 250 Gold, whereas a Level 3 Earth Habitat requires a total of 29,000 Gold from being built to being leveled to this stage, thus its selling price is 7,250 Gold.

Appearance[edit]

Various signs, indicated on a signpost Habitat Signpost.png show the status of Dragons residing in the Habitat:

  • the Signpost - Exploring.png sign indicates that a Dragon is exploring one of the ruins
  • the Signpost - Babifying.png sign indicates that a Dragon is in the Fountain of Youth
  • the Signpost - Breeding.png sign indicates that a Dragon is in the Breeding Den
  • the Signpost - Dragon Academy.png sign appears when a Dragon is in the Dragon Academy
  • the Signpost - Upgrade.png sign shows whether or not there is an available upgrade for the Habitat

Habitats change their appearance with every level until Level 6, at this level receiving a mark that represents the Element of the Habitat. Their size is 5x5 squares until they reach Level 5, after which their size becomes 6x6 squares. Habitats that can house Legendary or Divine Dragons can not be upgraded and their size is always 6x6 squares while Boss Habitats are always 6x6 squares regardless of level. Whenever a selected Habitat has free space inside it, the Purchase Egg Button.png button appears which takes the Trainer to the Main Shop where Dragons can be bought.

From time to time, the Yellow-Bordered Gem Ad Icon.png icon will appear above a random Habitat. Selecting the Habitat when this occurs will give the Trainer the option to watch an advertisement video in exchange for 1 Gem.

Habitat Types[edit]

There are various types of Habitats for housing Dragons. Chronos and Clan Dragons are the only Dragons that can not be housed in Habitats. While the Boss Habitat must be purchased with Gems, all other Habitats can be bought in the store with Gold. Boss Habitats can only house Boss Dragons; they are the only Habitat in which they can reside. Legendary Habitats, Time Habitats and Festive Habitats can house any other type of Dragon, except Dragons with the Divine Element, but can hold no more than two Dragons. Divine Habitats can house the same types of Dragons as the aforementioned Habitats can, but they can also house Dragons with the Divine Element.

Habitat Limit Extender - Info.png

All other Habitats can only house Dragons that have an Element matching that of the Habitat's, except the aforementioned types of Dragons, and can hold anywhere from 1 to 6 Dragons depending on the level of the Habitat. For Trainers who are levels 1 to 4, the maximum number of Habitats the user is allowed to have is 4. From level 5 onward, the maximum number of Habitats allowed to be built will be equal to the Trainer's level (the capacity is increased by 1 with every increase in level). However, Divine Habitats are also limited to the number of Divine Dragons a Trainer has plus an additional Habitat to that number. Apart from leveling up, the Habitat capacity can also be increased by one through the use of the Habitat Limit Extender Habitat Limit Extender.png, a special feature that is obtainable through the Dragon Collector Leaderboard Whale-Mart, various events or other methods. Habitat Limit Extenders are activated instantly upon being received and their effect is irreversible.

Inside Habitats[edit]

When a Trainer selects a Habitat, if there is any Dragon in it, they will see its icon which shows the Dragon's given name and its level. If this icon is pressed, the Trainer is taken to a screen displaying the Dragon in its Habitat from a closer angle, where additional information such as its Dragon name, Elements, Enchantment Level, whether it is trained or not, and its current Gold production can be found. Also, if the Trainers owns any Boss Dragon or/and has activated Chip's power, the amount of additional Gold a Dragon will produce as a result of the bonus(es) in Gold production will be shown in parentheses next to its regular Gold per Hour production. The bonus coming from Bosses will be shown first Total Earnings.png. Additionally, the Boss Dragons Icon.png icon will be shown next to the Gold per Hour production if the Trainer owns at least one Boss Dragon while if Chip's power is currently active, the CDP Icon - Gold.png icon will be shown next to it for as long as the power lasts.

If the Information Button.png button in the bottom left corner is selected, the Codex Entry of that Dragon is shown, providing further information about it. Actions that can be performed inside the Habitat include: feeding Feed Button.png (a progress bar indicating how many pieces of Food are left for the Dragon to level up shown at the top left, under its name), training Training Button.png and enchanting Enchantment Button.png, and awakening Elements for Legendary Awaken Button (Legendary).png or Divine Awaken Button (Divine).png Dragons that have one or none Elements awoken. On the last option, if one Element is awoken, the first Unawoken Element Icon.png icon will show the awoken Element, while if no Element is awoken, both icons will have the same appearance. Selecting this option will bring up a menu where, if available, the Trainer can unlock the first Element through the Awaken (Gold) Button.png button or the second Element through the Awaken (Gems) Button.png button.

In the case of a Boss Dragon, pressing its icon after selecting its Habitat will bring up a screen where the Trainer will see its name and image, a small description of it (This boss inspires other dragons to earn more Gold), the bonus it provides to the Gold production of other Dragons (10%), and the OK Button.png, Sell Button 3.png and Move Button.png options. Pressing the first option closes the screen, pressing the second option gives the Trainer the option to sell the Dragon and pressing the last option enables the Trainer to move the Boss to another Boss Habitat.

Whenever the Trainer chooses to sell any kind of Dragon, the choice must first be confirmed through the Yes Button.png button, or it can be cancelled through the No Button.png button. If the Dragon that is to be sold is a Fort Defender, a warning will appear, informing the Trainer of the action and of the fact that the defender will be replaced by another Dragon.

Additionally, whenever a Habitat (except Boss Habitat) is selected, the Information Button 2.png option can be chosen to see its description, Gold capacity, and the number of Dragons that it can hold.

Augmented Reality[edit]

Give Access Screen.png

Trainers whose devices run a version of iOS that supports the ARKit framework or a version of Android that supports the ARCore framework have the option to use the augmented reality feature with all the regular Dragons in the game. Inside the Habitat of a Dragon, the AR Button.png button must be pressed which will bring up a window asking the Trainer to give the game access to the device's camera and images. Once access is given, the device's camera will turn on and the Dragon will be displayed in the middle of the screen. From here the Trainer can snap a picture of the Dragon through the Snap Picture Button.png option or interact with it by giving it a treat through the Give Treat Button.png button.
